What stinks is that the scan button is now useless, as it's only for local PC scanning via the USB cable. It's been a couple of weeks since I removed the USB cable to the local PC, and it's being working like a charm. Looks like it's a one-trick pony, as it can't deal with multiple ports being utilized on the printer. I removed the USB cable, and had it use only the etherport for printing/access. No doubt it'll be something simple (it usually is). But unplugging the USB and doing a cold start of the printer didn't resolve the issue either. I even thought that maybe because the user's PC was hooked up via USB to the printer, that it was disabling the ethernet. I dropped a network connection in the room for the printer, so I could keep an eye on it for reporting (SW!). The user is using the printer as a local device. which is what makes me think the port is turned off on the printer. but I'm just not getting any activity on the Cisco switchport at all. I've checked the printer settings multiple times, thinking that I must have missed something, but the IP is set, as well as DNS, mask, and gateway.Įven went ahead and enabled DHCP. But I've also plugged a laptop up to this same jack in the room, and it worked fine, which is why I believe the issue is on the printer. The switchport it is using is programmed with the correct VLAN, and I did a shut/no shut just to make sure it was active. but it's plugged into a Cisco 2950 switch.
